Can someone tell me what causes the pink spot to form when a female leopard gecko begins to ovulate.

Also is that pink spot, just that, a pink spot on their belly skin, or is it some organ inside of the leo that becomes visable when then begin to ovulate.

If it's an organ, what organ is it?

Thanks you,

Eric and the Twins!

If i'm not mistaken with my anatomy...it's just undeveloped ova that isn't shelled and therefore doesn't appear white like eggs do. Just like when a woman ovulates, the egg she produces...that's it.

OK so when a leopard gecko is not gravid and not ovulating, where does that pink spot go?
