I am in the process of setting up a pacman frog tank. I am planning on getting one at the sept show in white plains NY.

So far I have a 12x12x12 exoterra terrarium. Meduim rocks lining the bottom of the tank, Moss on top of that. In the middle is a deli container for water. UTH and regular full spectrum light. I have misting bottles for my leo, thermometer and humidity meter that I have not mounted yet. What else do I need? (besides to take some pics) Will take some tomorrow, had a little bee problem today.

I heard with all frogs you should set up a drainage so to not create bacteria or mess, but thats just what I heard, i know for sure I need it for my posions, but I dont see why it would hurt.
All you need extra is some pvc piping to elevate it and some lighting grid from lowes or home depot you put on top of the pipes, then the rocks, substrate, and moss.
You also want a larger pvc pipe so you can siphon the water out, but make sure to put a sponge in there so the frog can jump into it.

Do not use moss, I have heard countless stories of pacman frogs choking on moss, I would use eco earth, much safer, much easier to clean, and hold moisture fairly well. You really don't need UV lighting, they are nocturnal, it wouldn't hurt though, unless you plan on getting an albino then I wouldn't use it. Other than that it sounds good to me, you can add like a half log or some fake plants if you want just to make it look better.

That size will last them for just a few months. That's not big enough for anything other than froglets. Pacman tanks are the most simple tanks to set up. A fewinches of cocofiber and a very shallow water dish, no drainage needed at all, no rock, and definitely no moss. You can add plants if you like but not a must. Here's is a great caresheet by Jay Willis.

Well. My old pacman frog had a 10 gallon tank with bed-a-beast, corner water dish, fake plant with rock base, lid, UTH and temp gauges... They are really easy to take care of.

Ya thats what I thought. My tank just has eco-earth a water bowl and a uth heater I also have some fake aquarium plants to make it look nice. The only light my frog recieves is from his neighboring satanic gecko tank and leo tank.

I wouldn't recommend it, unless you use a fairly big tank, because you will need to use large heavy-bodied plants, otherwise the frog will crush the plants or dig them up.

Personally I would use live over fake if you must have plants. I have seen many frogs eat plants by accident. It would be much better for them to swalow a pothos leaf than a plastic one. Live plants will also help with tank cleaning. The only problem is that they alot of pacs will dig up live plants when burrowing, so planting in small pots is a good idea.
