I am thinking of repainting my room, but i have no idea if the fumes from the paint would harm the gecko. Would it be safer if i took it (the gecko) out of the room for the time being then put it back in when i'm done?

I would advise moving the gecko out of the room.
I'm not sure if paint fumes are harmful, but to be on the safe side, I'd move him/her.:D

I would think they are harmful but perhaps it depends on the paint. When I painted my bathroom blue when I would blow my nose there would be little blue specks in it, so I started wearing a mask. At the time the bathroom wasn't very well ventilated though so that might have been a factor, but just in case I would remove him from the room until you're done.

I agree with what others have said. Most paint says on the label (last I checked, it's been a long time since I did any painting), that it's best to do it and have alot of ventilation. I'd move them to another room. Plus it would just be way easier if there was less clutter to paint around. Worst case senerio is somehow paint ends up on/in your tank. Wouldn't be very safe depending on the chemicals.

But it would be a quick way to discover a cool new morph! lol. j/k

I think its better to play safe. Last time I refurbished the gecko room, I moved all the geckos and feeders to the farthest room in the apartment. And let the area air out for quite some time before putting the geckos back in there.

Wow, thank goodness you didn't paint your bathroom RED! That probably would have given you quite a fright!

I agree you should move them out of the room. Better to be safe than sorry. :main_yes:
