Pale before laying eggs

Is it normal for a leo with eggs to shed before she lays? My female has been carrying for a while and is starting to look pretty pale. I was wondering if he pale color cold be shedding related or something else. She still is of good weight but has been refusing food for the past 3 weeks. Any ideas? Thanks in advance everybody

They do usually shed a few days before laying...start watching for eggs!
