Pale color...?

Hey, folks. I have another question about my leo. Right, so he's a few months old right now and he is now experiencing color change. He's a midnight blizzard (at least he started out that way) and he has yet to shed. Now, I understand some color changes are expected but he's looking paler, like a true blizzard (still has that bluish/purple tone though). And whenever something begins to look pale, I get concerned. So! Is this typical for midnight blizzards?

I considered it could be the amount of light he was getting since my red bulb burned out (and I think it was too hot for him too), I went with a 40 watt blue moon bulb.

Also, there's not a HUGE change in his eating habits...Though I noticed he got full pretty quickly yesterday. Maybe he doesn't like worms anymore? He looked at em all perky as though he was going to eat them but then changed his mind...

He's probably shed several times in the last few months but you haven't caught him at it. Blizzards change color frequently. I have a snow blizzard who is sometimes white, sometimes nearly purple and sometimes gold. There's a chance your gecko is shedding. Once leopard geckos get to be 30-40 grams they don't seem to eat as much and can be fed every 2 or 3 days instead of every day.

Leopard geckos won't leave any shed skin behind, as they eat it as it comes off. This could also explain why he wasn't as hungry. Alot of times ours won't eat very much the day before they shed.

Really?! :O

And here I thought I did all my homework before bringing this little booger home. I figured it would be a peeling process like a snake or iguana. Come to think of it...he did have some white spots on his head and nose--I just figured it was calci powder *shrug* Maybe that was his skin.

Thanks for the response!
