Not really sure where to put this. It's not *really* a morph question, but it's not showing off a gecko either - oh well, I'll let the mods decide that. ;)

For a while I've been thinking how much darker the Normal leos I see are than my own gecko. He's a Normal as well, but he seems a little ... washed-out. His tail's got nice clean white with bold black "eyespots" on the white bands, but the rest of his spots (well, blobs) are brown and the yellow's "muddy" in many places because of all the darker scales mixed in.

Here he is - this is with a flash, which messed up his face a bit, but it's pretty much his proper body color when he's in the light:

Is this most likely just normal color variation, or could it have something to do with his feeding/heating/etc.?

Sounds like a silly question, but you can never be too careful with your pets, right? ;)

He appears to be a high yellow/normal. I also have a high yellow with little to no Black spots but Brown instead. Lots of yellow as well. At first I thought maybe he was a poor quality Albino but he isn't. Hope this helps you :)

Whats Normal?

I'm guessing that means y'all agree with miss Donna here? :D

I do feel food quality can affect the colors of animals. Geckos included.
I see no problem with yours as it is (whatever morph)
Brown shade is very pretty + showing white..( attractive)
...who termed it high yellow anyway?
I think it probably is, but who am I to call it.
My first gecko ( a high yellow when I got her ) has changed with age.
No yellow at all now and mainly dark brown to black covering near all of her.
If I were to just be seeing her for the first time, I probably would
wonder why she was ever called a high yellow.
The range of gecko looks has become / becoming mind boggling.
Take care. HJ
