paper drawbacks?

I've read that quite a few breeders use paper, and the first I read of it was on tug's websight. So I recently switched to paper after realizing how many paper towel rolls I was going through. I have everyone on paper except hatchlings/babies until they get about 15/20g.
Is there a drawback to paper at all? I've not seen bad about it, so asking those who use it.

By paper you just mean like, copy paper? I don't use it, but the only drawbacks I can think of is crickets hiding under it, falling apart if it gets wet, and humid hide not as easy as it would be with paper towels. If you are using some sort of humid hide where water never touches the substrate, that wouldn't be an issue for you. Overall, I don't think anything is wrong with it.

I don't see anything wrong with using plain computer paper, but when I tried it didn't stay in place like the thick papertowels do, that's the only reason I keep using papertowels.

I use mainly paper towels, the only drawback that I can see is it isnt as good looking as some other things but safety is more important then looks.

Couldnt regular paper give the leo paper cuts because of thier thin skin?

I doubt it unless the leo is moving fast next to the paper, but, I guess it is a possibility

I have never personally used regular paper but doubt paper cuts would be a problem if its used right, it should be layed flat on the bottom.

Wouldn't having printer paper be easier to keep it flat on the ground because it's naturally straight, where paper towel is curly because it's wrapped around a tube? I always have a problem with roaches getting under the paper towel and I have to use like 7 rocks to flatten down everything.

In our large tubs we use b/w newspaper (no slick or colored), cut to fit. 15qt & 6qt get white paper towel. Babies & juvs sometimes go under the paper towel, which is no issue since it's soft and snuggly. Paper towel in all the hides. It looks nice and clean using all white, no patterns. During breeding season the girls get spaghnum moss. I like the absorbency of using paper. Not sure how copy type paper would do. Occasionally a feeder will get under paper, no big deal since we feed only worms. Shelf liner is a nice option and can be wiped clean.
