I haven't posted a question in awhile and now that it's 2:30 am and I just got done feeding and cleaning the gang; I wondered. How many rolls of paper towels does every one else go through in a week, in a night, in a month?

We only use them as a substrate for our babes and some juves, but clean everything with them.. IE - wiping up poop, moisting them with Virosan to wipe down the tubs, etc.

I go through 2-4 each time I clean and feed. A twelve pack every 8-10 days.. and who knows how many a month..

How many do you go through?

Where do you buy them and what type?

We use Brawny that we get 10 for 10$ super rolls.. We used to use the crap ones but found the little higher quality make a ton of difference..

Just interested to see.. :main_thumbsup:

as far as substrate goes i use 32 sheets every change this includes my beardie cages tho, the leos only account for 12 of those plus maybe 3 or 4 for cleaning purposes each time.

I buy mine from Costco. The seem to fit my bins very well. I go thru about 2 rolls a week just for the geckos. I think I paY about $14 for 10 rolls. They work pretty good and the single sheets are bigger than all the other brands I have tried.

well of course we use them for other things too.. household stuff and what not.. and really the majority of them isn't on lining the cages.. It's more for wiping up poop, wiping out food dishes, wiping our hands, etc; while we're cleaning..

I just thought it would be a fun post if were the only ones depleting the worlds population of papertowels... :)

I think I'm single-handedly depleting the world's population of paper towels. Between the select-a-size and standard paper towels, I probably go through about 24-30 rolls a week since I use them in the humid hides, as substrate, and for cleaning. I have been using Viva select-a-size in the shoeboxes for a long time, but have been trying out the Bounty version lately. I can't figure out which I prefer. For the standard size PT, I get either the 12 roll "Giant" Target brand packages or the equivalent in Bounty. I usually get all of it at Target, but am often surprised at how cheap you can find the Bounty packs at places like Lowe's or Home Depot. I bet I spend at least $100 a month on paper towels.

^^You are the cause of global warming lol

I use what ever type I get my hands on, I only buy the super soft and absorbent ones, I find that those can also be the cheaper ones. I get mine from Wegmans for $4.95 a roll, and Viva's from target, they are 2 packs for $12. I think I use about 5 rolls a week. I would only use half if my geckos didn't purposely tip the water bowls :main_laugh: . They are environment killers.
Next thread should be, "How many garbage bags do you use each week?". I use about 3 bags a week, most of the time they are only 3/4 full, gecko poo really gets to me after sniffing it 3 hours a night. Lol

I like to use blue "shop towels", I get them at Wally World for $2 a roll, in the automotive section. Of course I only have a few babies at the time so I don't go through a whole lot. I wanted to use something other than plain white or white with patterns. I like the way my babies look on the solid blue, and they seem to be really durable/absorbant.

We use legal size paper for a substrate for our adults and juves in 15's or 32's, it comes in big rheems ( i think i spelled that wrong) , I can steal it from work :), it's cheap, and it comes in a number of earth tone colors that they seem to like. We used card stock and various colors in the past but they really didn't to like the brighter colors. They all stopped eating. It was odd. Now we use off-white most of the time.
