parasite sharing question

I have various other pets other than Kirin, including a beardie who is currently brumating. I hadn't really ever thought of it before, but can parasites be passed between species? I don't *think* Kirin is buggy, but I know Ryuu can pass salmonella to the dogs or cats (or me, I've gotten it from her) but wasn't sure about possible parasites.

Let me also state that I ALWAYS wash my hands before/after handling each pet I have... just never really thought about parasites before so much as diseases.

If the parasite is one that will affect the other species (not all of them are), and if you don't maintain the kind of hygiene that kills the parasites as you move from enclosure to enclosure, then I would guess they can be transmitted.

I guess that makes sense :) Logical thoughts sometimes escape me :) Once the snow melts, I think I'm going to get a fecal done and just make sure.
