Is a Patternless Stripe when it has a Stripe as a baby and then it fades away? Or is it something different?

Thanks,
Joey

It's born with a striped tail and either no markings on the body, or more usually, just a few smudges. Sometimes they fade but sometimes they develop more spots. Even so, if they were born with very little black/brown color they are often still called patternless stripes. They are supposed to be the result of stripe x reverse stripe cross that has essentially "cancelled out" the color. Just like with raptors, which are supposed to be superhypo in their coloration, people still call geckos with some markings "patternless".
