I got a patternless at petco thinking it was a pretty, i didn't know what morph or anything, i just thought it was cool looking.

my question for you guys, is, would a patternless be worth breeding? I was reading in a leo book i got from the library, and it said they are pretty undesirable. what are your opinions on this?

Well, I think the author of a scientific book should keep their opinions to themselves and state facts. You can't say a trait is undesirable just because you think it's ugly or it sells cheap.

Out of curiosity, did the book what it meant by 'undesirable'?

I don't think it's worth breeding if by that you ask if they sell well and hope to make some money. If you just want to have fun and love the morph, well, why not?

What????

I can't imagine someone having the nerve to make a statement like that-to add their personal preferences to information in a book?
Geez....it sure takes all kinds to make up a world

Beauty and worth is in the eye of the beholder or in this case-the keeper-which is you

If you like your Leo -isn't that all that matters?

I'm not sure that I understand exactly what you are asking with this question?

my question for you guys, is, would a patternless be worth breeding? I was reading in a Leo book i got from the library, and it said they are pretty undesirable. what are your opinions on this?

Are you asking if a Patty would be worth breeding in regard to how much that you could sell the babies for?

Honestly-most people that get into breeding their Leos barely break even after their expenses

So if you like the patternless morph (I do very much) and you want to breed them in the future after you get some experience with keeping Leos-go for it

No disrespect meant -but there are many variables that come into play with looking at breeding and selling animals from a business stand point

It's not like selling dry goods-inanimate things don't have the possibility of health concerns popping up even in the best of care

I hope that i have answered your question
That is my take on it

oh, i should have specified, i just want to breed for me to have one that i breed, as of right now there is no way i could possibly even think of selling or breeding large.

I have a male albino and a female snow (i think, its either that or a normal i am getting pics for another post) so depending on what this little "it" turns out to be will decide who he/she is bred to. I just think it would be a very fun experience.

What i want to know, are you opinions on the patty morph.

I have been breeding the patternless morphs for many years, mostly because I think they are beautiful! They are not high-end morphs, but they typically have very sweet and gentle personalities. I usually have a fairly high demand for mine, especially now that Enigma and Snow crosses are becoming more popular (like the Ember). Besides, they are one of of the few morphs left that have pure, straight-forward simple recessive genetics.

I love Patty's and PA'S
This morph has been bred to many other morphs to create some beautiful Leos

I feel there is no morph that is undisireable. As stated earlier beuty is in the eye of the beholder. I personally don't care for BB's but thats just me. It reminds me of plucked baby chickens. But even then I might add one to my growing collection of leopard geckos. I am not a big Tremper morph fan but I will be getting some leopards that are as I get more room to expand. I would love to see the morph they get with Trempers done with Bells.

One of my favorite geckos is my Patty male. Like Marcia said, just because they don't command the highest dollar price tags doesn't mean they aren't awesome! I think generally speaking they have the best personalities other than my big male giants.

I have yet to meet a morph that I find "undesirable". Each one has things about it that make it unique and beautiful. We have a normal colored afganacus ( not sure if spelled right) and i have been told that she is ugly but i think she is the most adorable little girl in the world. If you truly like a morph then that is all that matters!!
