I have never had any problems with PayPal. I learned a valuable lesson on their policies when I started selling on Ebay years ago. I sent jewelry to a buyer who said they never got it. Even though I had a receipt for the shipping (USPS) there was no tracking since it was Priority Mail. PayPal refunded her money. 6 months later the buyer emailed to say that the ring had just arrived and sent the payment back to me. Now I send everything with tracking!

Also, as a seller if you follow the guidelines and only ship to confirmed addresses you're protected. It's win/win in my book.

Wow, Mel. That sucks that it took so long for the buyer to receive the ring, but it was nice that they were honest and let you know that it finally did arrive. There are so many dishonest people anymore. It's refreshing to have someone step up and be honest. ;)

I had problems through the years and $1500 later I dont use them.
Someone made a big order and turned out to be from a fraudulent card. I already shipped everything out and spent most of the money on other animals so Paypal took what I had left in my account and then started taking out from the people I purchased from until they got their money back from the bad payment.

So I ended up having to pay for the animals twice since they took my payments back to pay for the fraudulent payment I had nothing to do with.

I'm using Google checkout now but am looking into credit card processors so I can accept credit cards myself.

With paypal you can submit a claim. I had sent some money for a air soft rifle, the person never sent the item I filed a claim and I got my money back.

I use paypal to pay for things, I like it better then just sending my credit card number to a someone or reciting them. i personally havn't had problems with them just that it might take longer then I liked to take the money.

i've never had issues selling with paypal... but as a buyer, if you get scammed they don't help you out at all. i got hit by someone i considered a friend, turns out he was a big time scammer. his thing was to tell you processing + creating times were longer than paypal's window to report fraud. e-mail bombs threatening lawsuits were the only way i got my money back... 1 year and 1 month later. paypal is great unless something goes wrong. seller or buyer side, you're on your own.
