Peaks out of cave, but doesn't come out

I've had my leo for almost 2 weeks... and lately I notice he'll peak out of his cave, and just sit there. He goes back in... and then a few minutes later will peak out again. Why does he do this?

He's eating fine BTW.

Well leos do some strange things, its not really possible to pin point exactly why but its not something I would worry about. I have noticed that most of my leos are noisy, they will be asleep in their hides when I go into my herp room and after a few mins of being in their, they are peaking out of their hides looking at me lol.

He's probably out of his cave while you're asleep. That hiding behavior is normal. That's why it's called a "hide".

Well I keep hearing about how everyone's leo is out during the day and exploring - mine never does that. He really isn't even out much at night. He poops, eats and then it's back in his cave.

Just like I told you in the IMs, you need to be patient, man. Your leo is 2 months old at the oldest (possibly only a month) and you have had it like 2 weeks. Mine didn't start coming out regularly until about 3-3.5 months, and that was after having her for 3 months. If I think back to how my leo was after 2 weeks, it was like Where's Waldo trying to find her. These aren't pets like dogs that crave attention. You have to respect that they enjoy privacy and this most likely isn't going to be a pet you can do ver much with...

Some leos are more shy than others, and yours is still very young, so its pretty normal to hide from you. I have a PA that I'd had for almost 6 months, and he is still hiding from me most of the time...:(

yep

normal for leo's...try facin' the entrance to the hide to the dark side of the Viv to much light can be a problem, they are nocturnal...use a infra (Red 15/25W) bulb for night time viewing...got some great pic's this way...best luck:main_yes:
