well, I bought really huge bag of it for ten dollar, it is product in canada. if you know what it was lol. I use it for my venus fly traps plants and also repotting and growing seeds.

but the problem it's so huge , it would took me long to last of it but i was wondering if it would be useful for something related to animals? frog? insects? praying mantis?

So Is that safe use for leopard gecko humid substance?

Just make sure there are no fertilizers in it.Although I have used peat moss years ago and its ok to use I find it dries out too quick.I use vermiculite

If it's fertilizer free it's fine to use as a substrate for all kinds of animals. It would be fine for a mantid. I use Peat moss as a large part of my substrate mix for Uroplatus, Tokays, Halmaheras, and Gargoyles. It's fairly mold resistant and I find when mixed with cocofiber and milled sphagnum moss plus a little orchid bark and leaf litter over a drainage layer it holds humidity quite well and breaks down pretty slowly.
