My dog Pebbles is 17 years old. She is skin and bones now because she won't eat, and mom has even started making her scrambled eggs and toast so she will eat something. Friday, we cane home from picking me up at summer camp and found her with her head caught in the pool fence. it looked like she had been there for a while and she was over heated. We cooled her down(she was still alive)and she was sort-of ok after that. This incident had really taken the toll on her and mom decided that we needed to get her euthanized(or however you spell it). The appointment is for 5:00pm today. I don't have a picture cuz she looks like she has been abused and starved. She really hasn't, its just her age. Like I said before, she hasn't eaten, and when she will eat something, she won't gain weight :(. I am going to miss her cuz she was a wonderful dog and will be happier in doggie heaven with my other dog and my grandpa's dog, and all the other doggies who have gone to doggie heaven. :bigcry:

Awwwwwww.... Emily! I'm so very sorry you will be saying good-bye to your beloved friend, Pebbles. What a difficult decision to have to make, but one of unselfish love for your doggie. I know there will be an empty hole in your hearts and lives without her, but I hope that you will be able to fill that hole with happy memories of her.

You may want to take her picture before you go in so you dont' regret not having one later. I'm sorry you have to make this trip with her. As always, I'll send word up to Boo & Jerry, my Danes in doggy heaven, to look out for her.

Thanks everyone. I did take some pix and will post some later. Mom, Dad, and my brother just left to take her to the vet. I will always remember her and know that she is happy :).

Oh, I'm so sorry for your loss. 17 years is a wonderfully long life for most dogs. I'm sure she's in a better place now and will live in your memories forever.
