perlite for egg box?

is perlite ok to use in the egg box for laying females?
i know lots of people use vermiculite/sphangum moss and others but i was just wondering if it's ok to use cuz i got some of it from work.

i would not use perlite or vermiculite for a lay box but i would use sphagnum moss instead.

more chances that the leo can swallow the vermiculite and perlite versus the sphagnum moss. plus sphagnum seems to hold moisture better and it seems easier for the females to dig in and lay in.

I agree with everyone else too. Stick with sphagnum peat moss.

I do know that many breeders use vermiculite though. I thought about it, but the peat moss has served us well. It's only a couple bucks for a 50lb bag as Wally World.
