Petco, the only cricket supplier in my area.. ran out of crickets. I don't see how they can even let it get low enough without reordering them. The cashier couldn't even tell me when they would be available. Luckily my leo started eating mealworms recently.

You shouldnt buy crickets from petco, you should order them from their own supplier or grubco.com . Seriously feeders from petco are usually crud.

I never had any problems with petco crickets. But anyways, that has happened to me several times in the past, they normally get their orders every tuesday, so alot of times by sat-sunday their sold out.

Mmm. Once we went to about 4 different pet shops and all of them were out of mealies. Which is why we order from grubco now, its cheap and it arrive in 2 days every time.

It isn't worth it for me... I only have 1 leo that eats only about 4-5/day.

I know how you feel, I get mine from petsmart (hate going in there) but the feed store that has crickets for bait is even worse than petsmart with their feeders. I have 1 gecko out of 9 that eats crickets so that's why I don't buy them in bulk.

I forget which feeder company, but one of the bigger ones actually used to (and might still) have an option of ordering small cups delivered on scheduled dates....

That's very typical of the pet stores in my area. We have Pet Smart, Pet Supplies, a local one all within 10 minutes of the house. With only 1 leo, buy 1000--unless I start feeding them to my boys:p --seems it bit extreme. I could always buy more geckos!

Yeah exactly. In the other post you said Petco was a bit of a drive but might be worth it. If Petsmart is closer I'm sure their prices are similar. I don't have a Petsmart here at school so I don't actually know their prices, but I know it will be cheaper than that local place.

That's how I feel. I have about 5ish Geckos that only eat crickets (Knob Tails, some AFTs) it's just not economical for me to purchase 1,000 crickets.. Although the more I think about it, buying 1/2'' crickets and growing them up seems more and more appealing (I just bought $14 worth of crickets from Petsmart).... Ugh, why can't everything eat one food source?! Lol

Because that would makes things too easy-LOL
Have you tried them with super worms?
To me they are the most economical feeder
My Leos grow nice and fat on them
I still feed mealies and crix and a few roaches in addition-but my Leos get mostly supers
of course the aft's still insist on crix
:(
I hate crickets but tit seems that they are a necessary evil
Just a thought-
Is there anyone that lives near you with lizards that perhaps you could share an order of 1000 Crix with?
I think that your best option is to get more geckos
