well, after what i seen with the baby leo's in there......i hardly want to give my $ to that store. there was 30 baby leo's crammed just in the open part of a 10 gallon aquarium that they put them in, and about thirty more per hide all crammed into them. a few were fighting each other, and a few more had shed all over them that was all dried out and stickin to them, about six appeared to be completely dead. :main_no: but being that its the only petstore i have seen anywhere, im stuck going in there. it was a horrible sight to see. :main_no: all the rest of the aquariums on display had only one or two animals in it, it was just the leos that were like that.

Did you talk to the management about it? I emailed customer service at Petco the other day because one of the reptile displays was broken and the manager was too much of a loser to fix it and they had the situation resolved by the next day. Go to their website and email them with the store address, it can't hurt.

yeah I'm sure the owners of petsmart are animal lovers. Otherwise they wouldn't own the chain. It's just individual stores I'm sure that suck. There's a petsmart about an hour away from me and when I'm down there I stop in because their equipment is cheap I get UVB bulbs that I pay 20.00 for here, for 12 there so I try and stock up. But I'm sure if you consult the company directly things will change.

I agree- write an email to the corporate headquarters explaining in detail (if you have a camera phone-pics would be good too-if you can stand going back in there) and hopefully they will come down on the manager of the store and the deplorable conditions will be rectified
You can always threaten to (and follow through) with calling the authorities to report them for animal abuse

I have been buying my supplies online lately to stay away from those stores so that I don't have to go into them anymore

Good Luck

Yes pictures are key. I personally, just me, wouldn't talk to the manager of the store only becuase I would be worried that they (punk ass teenagers) would be rude to me then on out, and I don't want to have to drive even farther to get feeders. I don't have the option of having them delivered, so I have to give these donkeys my money. I would go directly above them so they didn't know it was me complaining. The PetCo near me in a very busy part of NOVA that was recently rated the best in the region....I witnessed a cammed tank with many underweight leos. About 30 in a 10g. One had dropped its already skinny tail and was licking its prolapse. It was terrible. Guess who im calling today. I was looking for a female a while back, before I discovered reptile shows. The Petsmart people told me that they only house males together so they don't breed. WHAT??? no wonder they kill each other. Also, most of these babies are too young to sex anyways. Sad, really sad.
