Ohh my goodness, so my gf and I went to a bunch of petstores in Abbotsford, B.C. today and I was DISGUSTED with how they treat their reptiles.... They don't even look up basic care for these animals! More than half of the stores I went to (and we went to alot) had JUVENILE leopard geckos on sand, these tanks have not been cleaned its disgusting. Dead crickets, feces, different reptiles in the same tank. I saw a golden monitor with four leopard geckos (juveniles) all in a 10 gallon tank... I was and am absolutely digusted....
I am thinking of writing a letter/fax to all the pet stores in Abbotsford telling them about the condition of their tanks. I dont know exactly what to do... Sooo if you have any ideas of what I can do so they treat the animals A LITTLE better, at least give them basic care please share your ideas... Another thing that would be extremely helpful, is a picture THAT IS YOURS of a leopard gecko with sand impaction. I'd love to show them a picture of what sand does to leopard geckos, let alone JUVENILES...
