Personally, I love phoenix worms. I've got 2 beardies, 1 jones armadillo lizard, and 2 leos. Neither leo likes them. However, I raised both beardies on them when they were young. And the armadillo lizard loves them. You have to be careful they're not eaten to fast or lizards will occasionally pass them undigested. (Older juvi beardies are able to eat several at once, not a good idea) Other then by leos, the reptiles really enjoyed them.

But they're easy to deal with, keep for a while, wiggle a bunch, and don't smell bad. They are a little pricey as a full time staple, but they definitely were helpful in bringing Oscar (our Armadillo lizard) back to health. They last a while in a dish (they live at least 2 days in a dish, several live for 4). I'd say start with a small amount, and see if they'll eat them.

I'd recommend Ghann's cricket farm. ( www.ghann.com/ ) Their price is good for phoenix worms, and you can get just 1 cup to start (they also have crickets and mealworms). They don't come in smaller amounts anywhere I've seen. But they are quite tiny, even the largest ones. It would take about 100 to feed an adult bearded dragon. (That's why I only fed them when they were babies)

You can order from them direct and sipping is free.

Not all of my Leos have taken on eating them at this momment. The Phoenix worm does wiggle a lot compared to mealworms. I am trying to get all my leos on phoenixworms, did the math and at the end of the month, it only cost me $8 more compared to crickets and $5 more compared to mealworms.

For now, I will continue let my leos finish off my stock of crickets and mealworms before I make the complete transition to phoenixworms.
