32 inches, 8 pounds. Caught it in 2 feet of water in Black Creek. Lure of choice was a Mepps Musky Killer in Hot Orange. For you fishermen out there who have never caught a pike, or enjoy it, or whatever the case is. Now is the time to go. Fall brings cold water and with it the Esocids turn on and bite everything that moves. Target areas still holding weeds with bigger than expected lures and you might get lucky with a monster. Always release your fish if you can. Unfortunately some like mine just don't make it. Lure caught in the gills, nothing to be done. Sad indeed.

Tight lines for my fellow fishermen and reptile lovers.

That's a pretty nice Pike you got there. Any bigger and they start to grow immensely in girth as they lengthen. I am a musky fisherman who has no time to fish lately ;)

Esox rule!!! You're right, the fishing is hot this time of year. Depending on how far North you are, the lakes should start turning over soon. After that things should really get exciting. Of course, the rivers are always good;)

Nice catch!

Here's a monster Walleye I caught a couple weeks ago...

LOL! We were using leaches on a jig, but not even getting bites... I threw on a nightcrawler to try for some cats and wound up catching that monster... :main_laugh:

That was at Buckhorn State Park on Castle Rock Flowage...

Here too, but mostly tigers. We have 5 strains of true musky stocked in NJ and the NY bourder. I have never gotten one in the boat over 51 inches ;)

I caught one muskie in canada in 2000, 43 inches, 25 pounds. Recently I found a small pond somewhat close to my house that has good numbers of pike in the 20-30" range. There are also some monster large mouth in there. I had a 19" large mouth on my ultralight with 4 pound test, man did that take awhile to bring in. I'm planning on making it out to conesus lake in mid new york for a day or two for some big pike and tiger muskie fishing. Sometime towards the end of this month or early november, that's when everything gets really crazy.
