im planing to buy 3 leopard geckos 1 male 2 females... 1st question is whats the easiest way to find out female/male? ive been trying to read as much as i can about these guys... walked into a petco and i seen a few of them and my god are they beautiful. my second question is how much do you guys usually spend? tank + geckos etc? in petco they have them for about 25 bucks each. i have 2 golden geckos right now and i want to get a separate tank n house 3 leopards, so im just wondering what type of tank would be best? 20 long? honestly how much do u guys usually spend lol

well it wouldnt be the best idea to put a male with 2 females for your first leopard geckos..How much you spend depends on the morph..those are probably normals, at the petstores by me, they sell norm. for $50 so $25 is a good price..you can get for $15-$20 online i think though. I would house all your leopard geckos seperately or at least the males and females

20 long is perfect for 1 leopard gecko. Although the bare minimum is a 10 gallon. Some people say you can house 3 in a 20 gallon, but I, personally, think that's pushing it. Remember that you need 2 dry hides, 1 humid hide, water bowl, calcium dish, and an under tank heater.

I'd avoid the trio as your first leopard geckos. Just get one to start. You really don't want to breed until you know all the ropes and whatnot. You'll have to get more housing for hatchlings, an incubator, and more feeders.

Plus, it's not really recommended to house multiple geckos in the same enclosure.

I'm not a big fan of pet store reptiles because they are really prone to illness and parasites. But a lot of the time you can find nice reptiles. I'd prefer a breeder at an expo or online. Check out the events calender and see if you can find a show near you; you'll probably find better geckos for a better price than at a pet store.

As for price, PetCo always sells babies for $25 and most juveniles-adults for $35. They sell patternless geckos for like $60 or $70 I forget. You can find a lot of really nice geckos for $30 at a reptile expo. Looking at pet stores really limits your quality.

I would wait to breed until you know more about them and can house and incubate the hatchlings properly. You may want to do a lot of research before your grab a few geckos and breed them. A lot of things are involved in breeding to make sure that the geckos remain healthy and not stressed out.
