So I'm graduating in the spring and want to treat myself to a little snake to celebrate moving out
. I won't be getting this animal until spring/summer but wanted to plan ahead, and I have it narrowed down to (roughly) 2 small boa species.
The Kenyan Sand Boa (or other sand boa species) : cute, relatively small, even temperament from what I've worked with, not too expensive, pretty morphs, not stubborn eaters, relatively easy to find.
or the Viper Boa : The one I've worked with was a complete sweetheart but they have bad reputations for being high strung and nippy, harder to find, stubborn eaters, expensive, but they're oh so cute!:smitten:
It might be a bit premature to plan a year in advance but I want everything settled well in advance. The trouble is I really want a viper boa, but I'm not certain if I can get one with such a nice even temperament that is eating well on frozen thawed mice. My boyfriend on the other hand is completely enamored with the sand boas, he really wants me to get one and he's even using economics to convince me they're the better choice (cheaper, easier to find and feed, etc).
Any opinions?
