As a reminder, please go though all of your electrical circuits and check your heat pads and what not. I dont want there to be any catastropes with your animals or even your house.

I began to smell a strong burning smell in my room, and i started looking at what could be causing it. It smelled electrical. I checked my surge protector that my computer is plugged into, then i checked the surge protector that my Heat pads are plugged into. They were fine... But i ended up tracking the smell down and it came was coming from the heat pad. This could have been BADDDD if i didnt catch it in time.

the hole is roughly the size of a dime and was gooey to the touch. The wires were visible as well. I did unplug the heatpad before testing the consistancy of the gooeyness btw lol

the pad itself was cold... but the area around where the burn was at was boiling hot. I mean VERY hot... im suprised it wasnt sparking. The UTH's are not in a position to where they would get to hot... the bottom of the tank is basically exposed to air due to the type of shelf I have them on. So build up of heat is out of the question.
