Even though the sand is advertised as fully digestible...it isn't. Use solid substrate such as tile, repti-carpet, or paper towel.

Even the "Digestible" sand can possibly lead to impaction. It just isn't worth the risk.

It looks to me as if the one with more spots is normal and maybe the one with fewer spots will be high yellow. Sometimes it's hard to tell if a gecko is a Mack snow unless you see them as young hatchlings, when they're black and white banded with no yellow. These look pretty young and were probably born yellow and black banded and are probably not Mack snows.

The simple answer to this question is "to make money"

Anyway, yours are probably more like 5-6 months old. They are def. a normal and possibly a high yellow, you will be able to tell when they get a little older.

And like people said before me and im sure after, its simpler in many ways to switch to paper towels, tile or repti-carpet. Not only because of impaction but it smells less and is easier to clean.

You might be able to sex them at that age. If you can get some clear pics of underneath of them at the base of the tail we might be able to help you tell.
