I know this is the wrong part of the forum to post this in but SOMEBODY hopefully has an idea of what is going in with our beardie. Lizzy is 9-10 months old and within the last month or two was impacted. She lost mobility to her rear legs and tail. We immediately removed her from the sand (which Jack's suggested to us as new owners). A few weeks ago she finally passed about a half teaspoon of sand (a large amount). Her waste since has been clear of sand. About a day after this, she gained mobility of her left rear leg, but not fully. At the point, she has partial mobility of all limbs with the exception of her right rear leg and tail. She can hardly get around but is fully alert and eating healthily.
Here is the rough part. I know impaction is terrible for them. We put her on a strict diet of baby food w/ calcium and a drop of mineral oil. But tonight we noticed her immobile leg has become more swollen and she has pooling blood spots that are seeping through. Maybe it is inflammation due to infection caused by dead cells? Maybe losing her leg? I'm an EMT but I only work on humans! Maybe someone can give me some insight?! She's at my girlfriends house right now due to my work schedule. I will attach the only pic she sent.
