Can anybody tell me if this looks like a Bell, Tremper, or La Vegas albino. The pictures don't do the colors justice. It has very bright yellow and lavender and purple (looks brown in the picture). He is 11 months old at 40 grams. I am still kinda new to morphs, so I appreciate your input. Thanks in advance.

I got him from a girl on craig's list. She told me the Mother was a Lavender and the Father was a Snow. She didn't sound like she knew a lot about morphs or breeding though. I have tried looking online to see if I could find other albinos to compare him to, but I can't find one as bright colored like him.

So, you are telling me that I shouldn't breed a gecko unless I buy him from a high end breeder. Its not like I bought him from P E T C O or any other big chain pet stores. All her geckos looked nice and healthy. I have no experience breeding, but at least I am doing my research before I attempt to.

Well if she couldn't tell you the morph, and he is almost a year old only at 40g, its just like getting from a chain store; no genetics. The weight isn't a huge deal but at then age, he should probably have at least been 55-60g

Yes I know hard to hear but yes that is what I am saying being a female it will take 3 seasons just to test for albino strains as you do not want to mix these strains. I know you are doing your research. That is why I gave you the info. Just because you do not like the info does not make it not correct.

Breeding her would do a couple things. You yourself would not know the genetics of the babies. Making you one of them people that don't know. Also you cohld be crossing albino strains without knowing.

Buy from anyone you lime but knowing the genetics is the beat way to get into breeding. I am just giving yoj an honest answer

Also I see you say it is a male....so my advise bya rainwater......raptor.....bell and a blizzard....you then breed to all those...you should see what you have. Buying those 4 animals you will be able to see what genetics are in this gecko. Well all except marble eye but I doubt it has marble eye.. again giving you advise so you don't mess up

Thanks for the advice, I really appreciate it. I have a SHTCTB Het Bell Albino. Should I try breeding him to her to test it. What should I expect as far as the offspring if it turns out he is a Bell Albino.

If you test it to her and it is a bell

You would get

Hypos
Super Hypos
Bell Albinos (with range of Hypo also)

If not you have your self animals you will have to sell as pet only.

To test a normal male that you're unsure of gets, get yourself an albino female and breed them, then incubate for all females, and then breed that male to all of his offspring

You do not have to buy from a "high end breeder" to get a quality gecko with known genetics. You can get well started albino for $50-60. Best bet is to keep that beautiful gecko as a pet and buy breeding stock with known genetics.
