you said you talked to a vet but did you actually have the vet examine your gecko? if not that's what you need to do. if it does indeed have MBD the vet can help you figure out the best way to treat it.
a vet can not properly diagnose the issue with out seeing it. your gecko may have some underlying neurological problems. i do not know much about reptile biology, but in mammals calcium is important for more than just making bones. the article on reptile MBD said the level of calcium is not as important as the ratio of calcium to potassium. your vet should probably check this ratio.
