poo testing

I planning on getting Rio's poo tested for parasites, I not exspecting anything to be wrong but think it is good practise.

Is it just worms I need to ask the vet to test for.

I have a micro scope myself would the worms show up on this.

I have a question about poo testing too! Can a vet that only treats dogs, cats and small animals do the poo test or do I have to find a vet that treats reptiles?

I exspect it depends on the vets. I phoned mine to ask, waiting for them to get back to me with if they will do it and how much.

I would find a vet well-versed in reptiles, the average dog/cat veterinary nurses are not trained to look for and identify the parasites your reptile can get.

Even if a regular vet can detect a parasitic problem, the medication dosages are so different, I wouldn't trust them to mix the drugs correctly.

My vets phoned me back today they got a lab that will test for parasits, salmanella and compilabacta (SP) at a petty good price.
