poop habits...

every gecko i've ever known has always picked a corner, and pooped in it consistantly! not my little maynard, she poops in all the corners. also, whenever i put crickets in her enclosure, she won't chase after them that much, she's kind of a shy eater. i will put crickets in and come back an hour later and they will all be gone. but if i sit there and watch her, she doesn't move a muscle.

i was just wondering if this feeding response/weird poop pattern is any cause for concern? i weighed her once so far since i got her, and she weighs 13 grams. i'm going to wait another week and then see if she's grown any.

I have a couple hatchlings that are not great hunters. I usually pinch the heads on the crickets and that way they don't get away but they still move enough to get their attention. Most of my little ones go where they go. I have a couple adult geckos that like to go in their food or calcium dishes. I have one water dish pooper too. I don't think I would worry about where they poo as long as it appears to be normal poo.

No, it's not a concern.
And who ever made up the "always poops in the same corner" rule is dead wrong!!
Only a few of my leos have ever done that.

Also, they all have their own personality and do things a little different, so dont worry much about the weird eating habit.
Some leos will not chase a cricket around at all. They would rather wait for
the cricket to come to them!! :main_laugh:
Others seem to enjoy running around the tank after them.
Go figure.. :D

Yup, Stan hit the spot.
All of the "rules" you hear that Leos abide by go like this.
They are general statements, and might happen...but no garuntee.
