Oh no! That poor little baby!
Is that a burn? Or the beginnings of scale rot?
She isn't turning septic, is she?

Scale rot! :(

I've seen a worse case of that. My het ghost female had some real bad scale rot near her vent when I got her and it was gone within a week when she shed. Not sure how someone can not notice something like that.

Yep. Scale rot. Took a trip to the vet and she is getting treatment.
I was NOT happy when I opened the bag and saw the healed injuries on her nose and side and this.
The guy claims he never noticed anything was wrong with this 100% healthy female.:main_angry:

That is a very mild case... Scale rot generally does not need vetinary treatment... It is easily haulted with a soak once a day in a tub of water with fungal/bacterial meds made for fish and being housed on clean, bone dry bedding material... It usually goes away with in 1 to 2 sheds depending how bad of a case it is...
I have treated a few gaboons and rhinos for scale rot... It usually comes about from saturated bedding (a common rookie mistake made when housing snakes that need high humidity levels)...

When a snake gets scale rot or has a skin injury, the frequency of shedding increases greatly... Its the animals own way of healing faster...

Do you remember the breeder who sold it to you, so everybody else can avoid buying from them in the future?

Back to the vet with her. She is not improving. Instead she seems to be getting worse. :main_huh:

That poor baby. She looks to be going into a shed. Do you think she'll improve when the shed comes off?

I'm hoping. If not, she will be going back to the vet.

Dude, you should try what I said in my other post... Seriously, you will get way better results... If you are soaking her 2 times a day, its too much... Like I said, I have treated this many times with great results... Obviously the vet is not helping the situation... Most vets have no clue... Things like this are mostly sorted better by seasoned keepers that have run into these issues and treated them with great results...

I stopped the soaks and the open sores closed.
She should shed today or tomorrow.
I can see the point of the betadine to heal it but getting wet is not helping.
She is on paper in a dry tub right now.
