I know sand's not the best for them but last time I changed the sand and put something else my lizard got sick and died.

Ever thought it could have been the sand you had it on? A new substrate shouldn't kill a gecko overnight.

What?! Any paper cuts yet? Mine lover to lay under the substrate so I use paper towels.



It's better than sand, but toes and teeth can get stuck resulting in injury and/or destroying your repti-carpet when you have to get them out.

I guess the best thing for them is paper towels. Do they slide when you put paper towels in there cage and do you layer the paper towel?
