Possible Male?

Hello, I have a female leo that I was going to breed to my male leo. Whenever I put the male in with the female she would runaround the cage and reject him so I figured she wasn't ovulating so I would remove the male from the tub. But today I saw her and she was crawling up the wall on her tub and I looked at her to see if she was ovulating and I looked down at the vent and I saw the arrow thing. The darkened pores. They weren't dark though. They were barely visible. Is it possibly she is a he? She doesn't have bulges at all. Is it possible for a female to have the darkened pores just not dark dark like the males? If she is a he wouldn't she have bulges? She is over a year old and I never saw bulges so I figured she was a female. What do you think?

Hard to tell without a picture. I've been staring at my 2 month old hatchlings (over 25 grams) trying to figure out if I'm seeing pores or not. At this point, just about everyone looks male, but that's just because I'm worried I'll get one wrong. I incubate at 83 or so, so they should just about all be females like all my other years.

Need a photo of your leo's bottom. Put your leo in a pyrx dish or other glass dish and take a photo from the bottom if you can get someone to help hold and take the photo.

@Aliza have you considered getting a lighted Loupe??

Well my camera isn't great at close shots like that. I was wondering if females could have slightly darkened pores, but not dark dark like males.

There's always a chance she's a "hot" female, meaning it's a female incubated at high temperature. So if you have a hot female, she won't want to breed.

I do have a good magnifying glass and a strong light. I also have 55 year old eyes and a good imagination which may negate the value of a lighted loupe.

I checked her today and I can't see the pores. Theres just the arrow but they aren't dark. They look clearish. Also no bulges and males always have bulges right? So I am pretty sure she is female, just not ovulating.
