Possibly Eggbound?

My female has laid 2 clutches in the past--first one was found too late (laid outside of the nest box), the 2nd pair was laid in the correct area, however turned out to be infertile. The last pair was laid on May 6, so a little over a month ago. She is eating normally, active, etc etc, but I noticed her belly is HUGE, and there are several white spots visible. She is housed with a male in a 40 gallon breeder tank on slate tile (they are soon being moved in to a 4 ft. long enclosure). What do you guys think? Eggbound or just very gravid? Is there anything I can do to help her along? I could seperate her, but she has never seemed stressed by the male's presence. I have never seen these two breeding, but she came to me as a breeder so unsure of who the sire would be. Would appreciate any advice. Thanks!

Welcome to GF.

I have never seen a belly so big and the underside picture looks as if she has at least 3 eggs in there ready to go. I would highly recommend a vet visit.

That's what I was worried about. =/ I will be taking her to a vet, but unfortunately I won't be able to do so until next Monday. Do you think she would be able to hold out until then? I have access to several emergency vets nearby if something goes wrong before then. Once at the vet, what would be the best step? Oxytocin? Or straight to surgery? I may separate her out tonight and see if that helps any, although I would hate to stress her even more. Is there anything I can do in the meantime to help her pass them? Or is this almost always a surgery situation?

Great news!!!! I separated her out last night and in to a 10 gallon and she spent the whole night and day in her nest box. I just got home from work and found 2 eggs!! Her belly is nice and flat now. May still see another white spot, however, is it true that you can see stored calcium? She is a very flighty gecko when it comes to being handled and I didn't want to stress her too much, so I didn't look that long. SO relieved! Not sure if they're even fertile or not...they appear white, but the shell is pretty squishy, just like her last infertile clutch. Oh well! I'm just glad she's ok.

They have that 'empty water bottle' feel to them like her last clutch, so I'm not so sure that they're fertile, but I popped them in the incubator anyway. The last ones deflated after twoish weeks and started to mold. =/ Cut them open and nothing inside but white goo.

I have never seen a females belly look like that before, poor thing looks a bit uncomfortable and i'm not surprised as those eggs do look quite large to me.
sorry to hear they were duds, better luck next time. the first few clutches are normally duds but if it keeps happening i would start to wonder if your male is the dud lol :p
