ok , I know carrot tail offspring color increases with each generation but does anyone know to what percent (approx. ) it would increase to ?

ex: say I have a 40% and a 10% what would the offspring be ? like a 30% ?

It does not always increase in the next generation in every individual gecko...
You could hatch neonates with less carrot tail than both parents... Your offspring will have varied amounts of CT... There is no cut and dry answer...

There is no real way to predict how much a hatchling will develop even after it hatches... Its just one of those things you need to wait for...

I bred a 50% to a 3% and got like 5-10% on this one baby. It doesnt get passed on that easily if it is any sort of an outcross.

like 5-10, it depends because its line bred. You can hatch out a high yellow with no CT from breeding SHTCTB TUG X SHTCTB TUG even though it isnt likely it can happen.

That pic of mom is an older one ,since then the carrot tail has connected ant its about 40-50% i cant tell som1 will prolly tell me that its 10%

so with my example I would get like a 10% ?

Dude, its a crap shoot... There is no way to tell either way... You can have one parent with 10% and the other with 20% and get hatchlings that will develop 50%...

I have had many babies develop more CT than the parents and babies develop less than both parents...

draw straws;-) LoL linebred traits all seem to work that way. You can have a nice tang and a crappy tang borderline normal in the same clutch...

I have a pair of het bells that are SHCT and SHCTB and they have produced every thing from normals to extreme orange hatchlings with a lot more carrot tail then mom and dad. There realy is no way to predict.

you think there would still be a range tho....there has to be a way....

Yeah, the range would be from 0% to 98%...

Like a few others and myself already stated, there is no way... You can predict all you like... It does not mean your prediction will unfold the way you see it...

The more CT the parents have, the more CT the offspring will have... but not always... You could assume that since Male A has 100% CT, and Female A has 100% CT, that they would produce more offspring with more CT than Male B that has 10% CT and Female B that has 0% CT.... but not always. :main_thumbsup:
