My pregnant leo is overdue. She bred April eleventh (2014). She hatched probably around January of 2013. She was approximately 56 grams when she bred. I posted this 6/7/14 and no eggs. So its been almost two months. She is definitely pregnant and is not showing signs of being egg bound. The male hatched around November or December of 2012. He was 53 grams, perfectly healthy. The female is going through/gone through a few fasts and didn't eat, but she did eat wax worms, she usually eats good and during her pregnancy when she did eat she ate a good amount. She has lots of calcium available. She's been in her lay box a lot after one week of being pregnant (info on lay box below)

Lay Box
it's 4"x4"x4"
the entrance is 2"x3"
the substrate for the lay box is eco earth
it's always moist

Anyways, thank you! I can provide more info, but can't post pictures.

Your help is appreciated! :huh2:

Do you have any idea how long she's been gravid? Is this her first clutch? Are you sure she's gravid? You could try giving her a warm soak, but sometimes you just have to wait. It can take longer than you'd think.

She is DEFINITELY gravid. no argument there. This is her first clutch and she has probably been gravid for six or seven weeks.

There's not much you can do but keep her hide moist and leave her alone. Don't check her more than once every 24 hours. If she starts losing weight or acting super lethargic get her to a vet. Egg binding is a reality of breeding. You can keep them as best you can to try to prevent it but once it begins you just need to do what you can. I'm not saying your gecko is egg bound, she's probably just fine and waiting for the right quiet time to lay. I'm saying that there's really no advice folks can give to "speed things along" other than patience and quiet :)

Good luck and let us know how it goes!!

Can you see VERY distinct red veins surrounding the egg(s)? It should look like a red-striped peppermint if she has eggs that are due within 1 week. Without seeing a picture, we definitely can't make a "best guess" :(. Feel free to add me on Facebook, PM me the most recent (and best) belly pic of the eggs/veins, and I will upload it here for you. :) My Facebook info is in my "signature" of this post.

If you want to try to upload it yourself:

1) This site will "host" xxxxx amount of data. So, since you haven't ever (??) uploaded a photo, you should still be able to upload a few photos. :)
2) Type the text of your next reply but DON"T click the "REPLY" button just yet......
3) Look just above the text-entry box (with your text inside).....
4) Hover your mouse over the icons in the toolbar near the right side.....
5) The "upload photo" icon is on the RIGHT side of the "earth with RED X"....
6) If necessary, click "upload from computer" and follow the prompts. :D
