Hi all,

tomorrow I am going to get 100 adult Dubias. Damn soooo expensive. Anyways for water source I am going to feed mainly apple cores since my daughter eats an apple puree everyday so I can use the core for them.

For food I was going to grind Dog Food (Science Plan Adult food) since I have a dog and can "steal" some of his Protein as fed 22.5 - 22.7 % dry matter 24.5 - 24.7 %, Oats and fish food.

Should i add something else to this mix? For water source is this fine?

Thanks

It was recommended to me to use orange slices, so I did. They chow down on them and it's the main source of water in my tubs. I do use apple or pear slices when they're available, but they really seem to like grapes too.

I also feed old CGD, especially since it's nutritionally balanced and I'm gonna throw it away anyway.

What is CGD?

Also for dry food is those three that I mentioned enough or should I add more?

for a standard that is always available to my Dubia is crushed cat food ( high in protine ) pure bee pollen ( high in protine ) and oats! all ground up in the magic bullet.

now what i cycle in and out is a orange cut into 4's, apple cores since i cut away from the core to give my son apple slices, chopped greens and carrots, Potato edges/skins, and whatever is left over from when my Fiance makes her home made soup.

i stay away from fish flakes because i use that for my tadpoles that i raise up and it molds over pretty quickly and attracts mites.

Ok will try out with dog food, oats and fish food and hope for some breeding. Right now I am still waiting for a UTH so I cannot except miracles :)

Water for mine is in the form of water crystals. Their staple is ground dog and cat food with some oats mixed in. They get fruit every week like apples, bananas, and oranges. Other "treats" as in bread, cereal, greens, and meat is added once in awhile.

For now I am feeding daily apple core and its being eaten quite well (not all because I change it daily). i am also feeding the mixture (Dog food, oats and fish flakes) this still not being eaten as much as apple core. Currently I have about 100 adults.

We avoid apples. Apples at warm dubia temps turn to cider vinegar quickly....geckos hate that taste. We've experimented with all different fruits and veggies. We prefer to use large organic carrots sliced lengthwise. We use those for supers and all our feeders. Whole Foods sells humongous organic carrots for .99 a lb.
Organic celery is also really good. Oranges quartered are their favs.

For their food we use Science diet dry adult cat food. For geckos that will eat dubias they are an awesome feeder...36% protein. It's like feeding your geckos a strip steak!

So the best thing to do is to change the apple core with Carrots even if I change the apple core daily?

About oranges should I cut it in 4 and give it to them with peel on them
