hey everyone sorry about the caps its a bad habit i have but anyways i have quick question what age do you think that leopard geckos should be retired from breeding im getting some 05 geckos do you think they are too old to be bred ?

Leos can live to be 15-20 years old if well cared for. 05 Leos (assuming you mean leos bornin 2005) would be at the beginning of their breeding lives. I don't want to sound mean, but you might want to do a little more research before you start breeding them.

BEWARE of cheap ones....even very pretty cheap ones!!! These can very quickly turn very expensive if you purchase them from a less then honest breeder and you are new to geckos.

hey the only reason i ask that if 05 leopards were to old to be breeding is because i have heard people say that geckos only lay about 70 eggs in there lifetime is this true ?

and i have done alot of reasearch about geckos i spent almost everyday doing research on them so i think im ready to breed i just wanted to ask some questions to be more secure

I do research everyday and I am just starting. Please know the expense of these animals. You can get way in over your head.

Feeding the breeders alone can run you a small fortune. We did alot of research before considering breeding and I was still somewhat surprised at how much these little guys can eat. Our food bill for our 4 legged family members runs me more per week then food for my 2 legged family, LOL.
