It's hard to tell from the picture. If you're noticing a crusty sore around the gum, he may have mouthrot. If you're noticing that his jaw seems rubbery and isn't closing all the way, he may have MBD from lack of calcium and vitamin D3. Either way, he's probably going to need a reptile vet visit.

Looking around on the net... looks like mouth rot. Going to the vet sometime first of the week.

just got back from the vet and it is mouth rot. he is on injected antibiotics and will need the injection every 3- 4 days for 3-5 injections.

heres a pic of what the vet pulled from his mouth.

vet said its necrotic gum tissue and teeth, i never would have thought it was that bad.
stix (the gecko) seems to already be feeling better.

He got is last shot today and has no more signs of bacteria. Now he has to relearn how to eat without his top teeth. He still cant quite grip the meal worms. Any suggestions that may help him out?
Besides dentures? Lol

How did the procedure go? Was he anesthetized ? What did the vet use to pull out the necrotic tissue ?

He used a q-tip and it just popped right out. He did not give him anything before removing it. Then started the antibiotics, 1 injection every 3 to 4 days for 4 to 5 injections.
