Im revamping my supplement regimen and gutload practices. I decided I wnted to go ahead and order some ProGecko Gutload as it is some of th best stuff out there and give a few leftover greens/vegetables from my dragons salad for water and variety. I also like to keep a few water crystals in there aswell.

I wanted to know how I should supplement/dust the feeders with if Im pumping them up with that gutload? would it be ok to dust every feeding with Repashy Calcium plus? what if I feed everyday?

Im not partial to any particular supplement I simply want what is best for my leos. I have all the major brand of calciums and vit/mins that my local pet stores carry including repashy, repcal (pink and blue), zoomed, tetrafauna, sprays, and liquids. all of that is in my arsenal next to my cages lol I just need to get a new schedule and regimen down that is appropriate for this gutload.

I currently have a dish of zoomed calcium without D3 in the tank at all times, dust with pink and blue seperately one day a week, dust with pure calcium once a week, and any time I feed superworms they get dusted with repashy.

I want to go completely to repashy but Im simply not yet convinced its the best move.

any help is appreciated.

I've been using Repashy Calcium plus only for the last 2 years and it's worked very well (maybe it's been 3 years . . .). I also use progeckos gutload. I dust at just about every feeding and no longer keep calcium in the cages except for the babies.

thank you for the reply.

roughly how many crickets/insects do you dust per week? mine are usually fed every day whereas alot of people here feed adults every other day. should I still dust every feeding?

is the gutload going to make the insects more nutritious and therfor maybe need to hold off the dusting a couple times a week to compensate?

There are a lot of components to nutrition: fat, protein, carbs, minerals and vitamins. Obviously, the dusting increased mineral and vitamin content, but not the other components. Generally I keep a small plastic cup with a little calcium plus, drop the crickets into it and shake them to dust. I sprinkle calcium plus on the mealworms and I dip the superworms into the calcium plus since I usually feed them off 1 at a time. I don't count. If I'm in a hurry, I skip the dusting, but there's not particular system. If I have a gecko that isn't eating much, I'll dip my finger in water, then in calcium plus and rub the paste on the gecko's jaw to get it to lick it off.

so you do not worry about over supplementing while using the repashy dust? it would be ok to dust every feeder? obviously I wouldnt dust a silk, horn, or butterworm..

It was specifically designed to be used every time you feed. So unless you feel that your geckos are being over supplemented I'd go with how they designed for it to be used. I use repashy products exclusively and have gotten awesome results during breeding season.

I suppose I will give it a try, then. I currently have the T-rex version of it, but it still says repashy across the top. I will order some directly from him when this bottle runs out.

I dust every feeding with repashy leopard gecko calcium plus and have not have any problems with calcium deposits or anything like that, i dont fear over supplementing or overdosing on the d3 i have noticed on the bottle that repashy has lower d3 than most vitamin powders.

It also smells good which i think makes his mealworms more tempting.

I love the fact that i dont have to keep calcium in the cage anymore, my little troublemaker loves getting it on his feet and tracking it EVERYWHERE. Best supplement bar none everyone should use it imo.
