I wish the same care and consideration to the vet if they need medical attention. I have a vice , an oxycodone and dull chainsaw waiting for his next splinter free of charge:main_evilgrin:

no I know it looks like I' m bing funny about it but that's just a thing I do when I find something a bit ridiculous. i' m dead serious that's what stunned us as well, we were outside within 10 min. didn't really like the vet but there was no other available that knows how to handle reptiles so we thought we'd check this one out.
Immediately started checking him out by pulling his hemipenis with tweezers although it was obvious that it had startd to become necrotic.
Kiiro (our male) was sooo uncomfortable. And he asked if we wanted to hold it or if we had to call someone and I wanted to hold him cause I can hold him firmly but in a wa that's most comfortabl for him. But then he did call in his assistants suddenly while I was already holding him "so they could learn how to hold a reptile" so all of a sudden there were 2 people holding him and a total of 5 people around him. So only thing I could think of was to just hold my hand over his eyes to try calming him down a bit. and everthing went so fast, jamming the needle in pulling his hemipenis and cutting it off . I know anaesthetics can work reeally fast but still he jumped when the guy started cutting it off.... so at least I know I don't really feel comfortable with this vet and next time we' ll make sure we can go to the nice one again.
I felt so bad for him but I' m also glad we didn't wait any longer (the other vet just had a month vacation and was totally booked so we could only go there 4 days later) didnt want to wait that long because the necrosis would only become worse and he started becoming a little bit lethargic.
So the vet wasnt too nice and I hate it when they want to handle everything quickly and have their 10 min deadline per client. I' d rather pay a double fee for the extra 10 mins it takes to do it in a way that's comfortable for the leo. at least I' m glad it's done. The following day he started eatng a little bit already so I even felt better we didn't wait that long to go to the other vet.

How was it amputated with other people's leo's who had the same problem??
