My 5 year old male having some shed problems today. I kept a close eye on him and noticed that he was working pretty hard near the base of his tail. he must have had some old shed stuck because he gave one last tug and it looked as though he pulled something out from inside. I'm just wondering if this looks like a prolapse to you guys and if you have any home remedies I can try before I get a chance to find a vet (just moved to a new town)

Agree with above. Just make sure your sugar/water mix is rather dense...the more thick, the better. You're going to want to keep that area moist until it decides to retract back to it's proper place...keep your gecko on moist paper towels and remove any loose substrate you might have. If you can get yourself a small bottle of sterile K-Y jelly, you can apply a small amount of that as well to keep the area moist. Don't let the organ dry out or you run the risk of it becoming necrotic and either falling off on it's own needing to be surgically removed.
