One of my leopard geckos seems to love roaming around and exploring. Unlike my second Leo, she is often out of her hide and has no qualms about her cage being opened for feeding time and doesn't run from any hands stuck in.
In fact, she recognizes when the lid is gone and immediately starts looking for a way to climb out. She has figured out how to stand on her hide and can just reach the top of the cage, from which she's able to scramble up and over. I really have to keep my eye on her.
So I'm just curious if leopard geckos appreciate new items being placed in their cage for some mental stimulation. I don't usually see reptiles being inquisitive the same way rats or larger mammals might be, but maybe some like to explore?
How do you keep your Leos entertained within their cage?
