My aunt's Maltese, Pixie, just had her first litter of puppies! They're absolutely adorable!
The proud father is a miniature schnauzer named Sammy. The breeding was "accidental" (Sammy's my uncle's dog, he was visiting and no one thought to keep the dogs apart) but all four puppies have already been claimed and are going to good loving homes.
She was such a good girl during the 7 hours she was in labor. Poor girl was so tired but never growled or snapped at any of us (there were about 5 of us in the room, just two near her though) at all. She even allowed the puppies to be handled for sexing. Three boys and a girl.
(just the first two puppies here. The black and white one they decided to call "Cow" and the brown and white one doesn't have a name yet)
This pic shows all four puppies: two black and white, one brown and white, and one grey/brown pup. The grey/brown one has white "socks" and my aunt thinks she'll keep that one. It's the only female in the litter.
