Ok. So as I've mentioned, I'm looking at getting a pitbull. I've been looking, as I've finally gotten the approval from my parents. It just can't be a dark colored pitbull, which is fine. I found one on petfinder from a pitbull rescue. I don't have much experience guessing what a puppy will look like as an adult. I'm just curious if any of you think her head will fill into her ears... Oh and she's about 8 weeks old...

Cute puppy Whitney, I am sure once that head starts growing and she starts to get that Pit Bull head, those ears will not look so big at all. Just my opinion though, I haven't had a Pit before, but I love the breed and I have seen alot of puppies. Private Message or email Jeanne ("Jeanne") here on the forums, I know she knows alot about pits, and can help you out more. Congrats on getting that new puppy. Just curious though, why did they say not a dark puppy? lol

They think that darker pits look meaner. I dunno. They're really iffy about me getting a pitbull. I've had one before, but that was when I lived with my boyfriend. And it broke my heart, leaving a huge crack when Chance was stolen from a friend of a friend of my boyfriend's house. As he was my dog, I've been devistated ever since, and 6 months later, can't take the void any longer. I don't want to replace Chance by anymeans. I just need something to help alleviate the pain.

OMG! That has to be the CUTEST puppy ever! I don't know about you, but I would snatch her up in a heart beat! I mean, look at that face!

About the ears, you really can't tell what they will look like when the dog is full grown. She may grow into them, she may not. I have a dog, Brittney, she had perfect ears when she was a puppy, now, they are huge, but I don't care. Because she is an awesome dog! And, I would love her no matter how big hers ears got.

All puppy´s look completely silly as their ears and feet are way to big for them, but they will grow into them nicely, don´t you worry :)

I know most pups look goofy when they're young. I guess I'm just expecting too much becuase I feel that as a pup Chance was gorgeous and made an even more gorgeous young adult dog. His stature was perfect for a pit, and he was just some random add in the paper. I guess I'm just holding this/any future pit to his standards... I went ahead and emailed the shelter with a few questions about her... We'll see how it goes... Just sucks that I work this and next Saturday, so I dunno when I'd be able to go 2-3 hours away to get her.

Just a random thought but if they were to rename the pitbull to something like the "Fuzzle" do you think people would think they were less "aggressive"? LOL.

Cute pup by the way!

I don't think that I will be allowed to get the puppy as she's from a pit rescue and they have on their site a few things that I don't qualify for, so to speak. They believe pits are not pack dogs, and should be kept with not more than one other dod; I have 4 dogs right now (only two would she have contact with). Pits don't need to be with dogs of their own sex, and my mom has a female dog. Both statements I disagree with... But we'll see. I did the application anyway. My hopes aren't up about this puppy though.

We have been watchling alot of the "Dog Whisperer" show and he proves on there that all dogs can and are pack dogs, they just might need some help working themselves back into the pack.

she is adorable, Id get her. We have 2 9 week olds and our females ears look the same as did her moms at that age and her mom grew into hers. But I actaully think they are cuter with the goofy ears!

Rescue centers are looking out for the best interest of the dog. If they are specific to pits, respect their advise about "packs". That said, oh my god, she is the sweetest looking thang!

Tell Abbie and Brittney that! I can't seperate them! They love each other too much (I am not saying that all pits will get along with other dogs):

I, too, disagree with the statement. I had Chance, a male, with a male yorkie and a male dachshund, all of which got along for the most part...
