Is a pygmy BD really a different species? Or is it just a small BD that people have given a name? Like teacup yorkies (they average 2-10 pounds so a 2lb teacup is not a teacup)

There is someone who breeds the the inland with the rankins/lawsons and calls it someting else, IMO not something I would ever consider doing yet alone buying. As it seems people are tagging a new name to the rankins dragon by calling them pigmys, it is the same thing as the rankins, whichis the same thing as the lawson's, and also known as the black soil dragon.

That's what I am thinking the person was talking about, but he said it was an actual dwarf BD. I couldn't find any info on them except that some BD breeders call the smaller BDs they hatch dwarfs and charge more for them.

I couldn't find anything about them as a species.

I have been seeing this question come up more and more latly. IMO im thinking they have to be refering to a lawsons. However in this day and age it wouldnt surprise me if people where breeding runts and line breeding runts to get a smaller sized dragon. I hope this is not the case.

Well if they are producing true pogonas that are dwarf, IMO they shouldnt be breeding those beardies. In the wild they are normaly 20"-23", beardies under 20" are not good reps of the species therefore really shouldnt be breeding. Just an opinion, you dont have to like it, but its all mine. It is like a genetic defect, although it may not be deadly, it is still a defect and since the gene pool is so small with these guys, last thing we need to do is start producing small beardies.

I think alot of people dont know the correct name of the lawsons/rankins dragon. But I also do know of one person who was breeding lawsons to pogona, which seriously why...why why why? I dont remember who they were, but they got alot of smack for it. Someone else might be doing it now and they may be talking about these being dwarfs, they have more of the coloration of the pogona, but the smaller size of the lawsons.
