Question about bad eggs.

I was about to throw away some infertile eggs, but decided to see what was inside, when I popped them, clear goo came out, like I expected, but so did a big mass with what looked like an eye spot on it. Was this a baby that didn't make it?
If it was, does that mean that I don't have an infertile male, just bad babies or bad first eggs?
