Question about changing Kiyas Diet

Hey there everyone, for some reason lately I have noticed that my little girl isn't touching her crickets. Usually she loves them and will eat them whenever she has the chance, but lately it is the opposite. She refuses to touch them at all and I have no idea why. :main_huh: She is still eating mealies as usual, so she is not starving herself from them.

Now my question is... Is it okay to take her off of crickets if she will continue to not eat them? Is it alright for them to have a diet just based on worms? Or would I need some type of Vitamin or something to make up for eliminating crickets as a part of her diet?

Well

Check the temps.

I could be that it is cooler and she is just eating less.

Yes, it is Ok to take her off the crickets if she will not eat them but, this may just be temporary.

Some people feed only mealworms. But, everyone likes a little bit of everything. So you may just want to wait a few days and try crickets again.

I am not sure if you need to add vitamins or do something different. Wait for some additional posts.

i have also heard that feeding a diet of only one or two things can make a leo "bored"....sick of the same food all the time i guess. try a variety with occasional superworms, silkworms, etc. check out some of the other options for a while then go back to crickets and possibly she will start taking them again.

Board

I also have read that some Leos will suddenly stop eating a "favorite" food item. So I think that they get board too.

I feed my Leopard Geckos ... Crickets:D and Mealworms:) and then, for something different ... I have fed them some HornWorms, Super Mealworms, and the occassional Waxie.:main_yes:

I have not tried Silkworms, Butterworm or Roaches.:main_no:

I have used Phoneix Worms but, I do not think that my Leos like them.:main_huh:

There may be a few other feeder insects out there but, this is most of them.

I made an order for some food for Kiya, well now it will be for both of them :main_laugh: I ordered some superworms for a little something different. In addition to the mealies and the crickets of course.

It's more than likely temporary that Kiya refuses her crickets. I'm pretty sure that my Tiamat has gotten off feed because the temps got a little too low in her tank. I've since stablized them but she's still hardly eating anything. :( I tried giving her superworms today and she hardly gave them a passing glance.

I think I would be more worried if Kiya wasn't eating her mealworms either. So, I was just wondering if maybe she doesn't like cricks as much anymore or something.

I hope Tiamat eats something for you soon. ^^ How long has the terranium temps been stabilized?
