Question About Front-Opening Cages

It's been a while since I last posted on here, which is the product of grad school and numerous medical disasters with my leos in the last three years (I've lost about two a year to things ranging from complications from old injuries to general "I'm getting old and my little reptile body wants to give out" issues. It's been hard.). I now have six leos, with another suffering from complications with cancer (I'm giving him as much happy in life as I can reasonably manage for a leo before I'll have to let him go).

All of this is a long-winded way of saying that I'm interested in possibly changing my leo setup to move from a rack setting to a slightly more elaborate environment. Won't be breeding again for a very long time and I figure leos would be happier living in a slightly more spacious, real environment.

My question is this: What kinds of front-opening cages do you recommend for adult leopard geckos?

I know there are numerous companies making them, from the Vision to glasscages.com, etc. etc. etc., but the threads I found on here were from a year or two ago, so I'd like to get a more updated opinion just in case there's new stuff out there, complications with old styles, and so on. Stacking cages (or at least using a metal rack to house front-opening cages) would give me more flexibility in terms of space; hence the interest.

Thanks for your time and opinions.

I keep many of my leos in the glass cages stacking half-high cages. I get the "half-29's" which are 12"x36"x about 8"high. They can be stacked, but you need to put a spacer between the cages or the bottom one will get too humid. I have shelf units with a cage on each shelf. The only down-side is that a few of the plastic joints on the front doors are starting to break. I think there will be a way to repair it but I'm still thinking about it. If glasscages.com delivers in your area, it's a really great deal.

I love showcase cages, but they are pricey. Vision seems to make nice cages of that style as well for a better price but I haven't used them. Personally I like the half sized glass tanks. A store local to me makes custom dimension glass tanks and the price is unbeatable.

Here is an example of the tanks they make. It is much smaller than what you need, I use this for my baby cresteds, but the tank designs are typically the same, this one ran me $20. It has a sliding lid with a lock pin as well. I plan on using nothing but this style tank from now on.

EXO TERRA 24x18x18 for one gecko or a 36x18x18 for two.
The only thing I don't like is the height, I with it was only 12 instead.
If you want length and a shorter height, then go with a 20 long tank, you can fit two 12x12 tiles snugly with no gaps (sand is bad for geckos, it is a slow, suffering death sentence).
The rock ledges by MAGNATURALS is great, they have small medium and large strong magnetic ledges for the leo's to climb.
