Question About Infertile Eggs

Since I have a couple first year breeder females this year, I have had a few infertile eggs. My question is why some of the infertile eggs mold and collapse after a few days and why some of the infertile eggs continue to grow throughout the whole incubation period even though they are infertile?

I think I read somewhere that the shells in some eggs take in moisture from the egg contains giving the appearance of growth, while others quickly mold, dent, or collapse. Don't quote me on this though, just something I read forever ago.

The ones that collapse and mold had some embryo formation at some point but just never fully took hold. The ones that increase in size are simply absorbing moisture from the substrate

It's good to hear that it is not only me. I almost would just rather the eggs collapse then have them grow throughout the incubation process. I understand the incubate until they die quote, but it just gives me false hope to see an egg grow that is glowing yellow
